TRE® is a technique that releases stress and tension that the body has stored and accumulated from difficult life circumstances, traumatic events, prolonged stressful encounters over the years or everyday life stressors. The gentle shaking or tremoring reverberate outwards along the spine releasing tension from the sacrum (pelvis) to the cranium (head). The shaking originates in the psoas muscle (your bodies core) which is known as the “seat of trauma”. If the Psoas muscle is not released through shaking, it remains tight and communicates to the brain and the nervous system that “we are still under threat”. As a result, stress hormones (such as adrenaline and cortisol) build up in your body which leave you feeling frustrated, anxious, overwhelmed, numb, depressed and mentally and physically ill.
Even though TRE® and QEC are beneficial for many, there are three exclusion categories to be aware of. People who have had recent surgery or injury should wait at least 3 months post recovery before committing to TRE®. Pregnant women should not do TRE®. People with severe mental health issues which include psychosis or severe dissociative disorders should consult with their mental health practitioner before doing TRE®.
At the moment I am only offering remote sessions. I use Zoom as my preferred platform and if that is not available to you, I also use WhatsApp video calls.
